Mobile County Public Schools re-launched its website – www.mcpss.com – this summer, creating a more user-friendly format and more visually appealing platform.
The goal of the revamp – led by the Technology Division – was to make it easier for parents, students and the public to find the information they most often need.
A new “I Want To…” icon on the front page directs users to find anything and everything they may need in a few easy clicks. They can “Apply for” (jobs, magnet schools, pre-K); “Find” (bus routes, school zones, student grades); “Get a Copy Of” (financial reports, lunch menus, student handbook); or“Register” for school.
Hundreds of internal pages were redone and moved, making the site less cluttered.
Professionalism, functionality and organization became the main focus in the redesign.
Because Mobile County Public Schools is always striving to lead the way in innovation, a website design unlike any other was developed. A video background boasts several of our school’s campuses, as well as the beauty Mobile County has to offer.
News that rotates on the home page also displays on The Wire, which was created to be an information hub for all MCPSS news. On The Wire, parents can find news stories, a live feed of our 24-hour mcpssTV, social media feeds and upcoming events.
Links to the district’s various divisions, all 90 schools and parent information are available by clicking icons at the top of the homepage.
We invite you to check out the new mcpss.com and stay connected.
