Three MCPSS high schools honored alumni last week who were back in town to play in, or be honored by, the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Vigor and Blount recognized graduates who were playing in the game. Vigor’s Deshaun Davis represented Auburn in the game and was joined by his college defensive coordinator, Kevin Steele, as Vigor celebrated “Deshaun Davis Day.”
Blount welcomed back B.J. Autry, an offensive lineman from Jacksonville State, who was a member of the South squad though he did not get to play in the game due to injury.
Blount also had an alum inducted into the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame — DeMarco McNeil, who represented Auburn in the 2004 game. McNeil is now an analyst on Will Muschamp’s coaching staff at South Carolina.
And B.C. Rain welcomed another Senior Bowl Hall of Fame inductee home — Rodney Hudson. Currently a center for the Oakland Raiders, Hudson played in the 2011 game after playing at Florida State.
“I’m happy to say I’m from Mobile,” Hudson said. “This place helped mold me into who I am and I still carry that with me today.”
