Cheerleading squads from eight MCPSS high schools and two middle schools advanced from this week’s Alabama High School Athletic Association South Super Regional competition at the Mobile Civic Center and will compete at the state competition.
The varsity squads from Alma Bryant, Baker, Blount, Mary Montgomery, Murphy and Theodore high schools advanced in the 6A-7A game day competition, and Mary Montgomery also advanced in the non-building competition.
The Citronelle and Vigor varsity squads advanced in the 4A-5A game day competition, and the squads from Phillips and Semmes advanced in the middle school game day bracket. Baker’s junior varsity squad also advanced with its game day routine.
These squads will represent Mobile County Public Schools at the state cheerleading competition on Dec. 15 at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville.
