The Mobile County Public Schools Child Nutrition Department’s summer feeding program returns next month at sites around the county, offering meals at no cost for young people ages 18 and under.
The program begins June 4 and continues through July 19. Lunch will be served Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the exception of July 4. Breakfast will also be available at select sites from 7:30 to 8:05 a.m., Monday through Thursday. All meals must be eaten on site — no carry-outs.
Lunch and breakfast will be served from June 4 through July 19 at Augusta Evans and Leinkauf Elementary. Lunch only will be available from June 4 through July 19 at Robbins and Spencer-Westlawn elementary schools and Baker, Blount, LeFlore and Vigor high schools.
Lunch and breakfast will be offered on an abbreviated schedule from June 4 through June 19 at Craighead and Gilliard elementary schools and Pillans Middle, and from June 11 through July 19 at Hankins and Lott Middle and Kate Shepard Elementary.
The SuperFood Express will also be back this year, with buses bringing meals to non-school sites including: Highpoint Park in Eight Mile, Freewater Baptist Church in Irvington, Rickarby Park in Mobile and William Clark Recreational Center in Prichard.
